ACETROPIS GIMMERTHALII
Fig 1

DESCRIPTION: Length up to 6mm. Another one of the elongate grass-bugs that needs care but can soon be easily recognised due to its general shape and the smooth pronotum that lacks any obvious punctures. The head is as wide as the front of the pronotum. The head usually has a central dark line, the pronotum bears 4 dark stripes and the scutellum can be darker marked too. The length of the 2nd antennal segment is equal to that of the 3rd and 4th combined. BEHAVIOUR: Another true bug that likes to reside within vegetation and so is best found by sweeping.  DISTRIBUTION: Resident and found in southern and central England and Wales. Not overly common. HABITAT: Has a preference for mainly dry grasslands but can be found in damper areas. PERIOD: Can be seen during the summer months.
